Pierre Eienne Thedore Rousseau (April, 15, 1812 - December, 22, 1867) - a French landscape painter and engraver, a founder of so-called Barbizon school. He is considered to be a Realist. He was taught by his cousin and later by Jean Charles Remon. He introduced the notion of "intimate landscape" and was one of the first to work in plen air (outdoors). Among the most famous works are: "Tempest", "Sunset", "Market in Normandy", "End of October".
