Adolf Schreyer (July, 9, 1828 – July, 29, 1899) - a German painter. He studied painting in his native Frankfurt-am-Main, Stuttgart and Munich. Schreyer is best known as a battle-scene painter and is famed for his masterful depictions of horses and peasant life in Southern Europe. Among his most famous works are the following: "Arab Horsemen", "Charge of Artillery of Imperial Guard", "Abandoned", "Arabs on the March" and "Arabs Making a Detour".
