Barend Cornelis Koekkoek (October, 11, 1803, Middelburg - April, 5, 1862, Kleve) - a Dutch painter most famous for his landscapes - he was even referred to as "The Prince of Landscapes". He studied under Abraham Krayestein. His son - Johannes Hermanus Barend - was also a painter. Among his works are: "Sunset on the Rhine" (1853), "Winter Landscape, Holland" (1833), "Landscape with a Rainstorm Threatening", "View of Konigstein on the Elbe" (1858).
